Citizenship Materials for ESOL Learners Open Workshops in Inverness and Dundee, 2006 NIACE are running a second phase of teacher's familiarisation workshops in February 2006 and if you have an interest in Citizenship and language issues you are welcome. The open workshops are aimed at ESOL managers, teachers, community workers, local government staff, college advisers, refugee community groups and schoolteachers. All the workshops are free and every delegate receives a free copy of Citizenship materials for ESOL learners, which has now been contextualised for Scottish learners and teachers. The first phase of workshops was delivered between January and March 2005 in Scotland and England. The workshops introduced the Citizenship materials for ESOL learners pack to ESOL teachers. There was a huge interest in the workshops and a second phase started in October 2005. 27 events in total across the 9 English regions and 2 events in Wales have already been delivered. Please note that the morning session of the open events is aimed at anyone interested in Citizenship and language issues and that the afternoon session is designed for ESOL teachers and managers only.
