Citizenship Materials for ESOL Learners in Northern Ireland Wednesday 20 September 2006 Belfast Wednesday 27 September 2006 Cookstown An initiative to make becoming a UK citizen a more meaningful event is coming to Northern Ireland. Citizenship Materials for ESOL learners is an invigorating and challenging project led by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) and LLU+ at London South Bank University Following recent development work in England and Scotland, we are currently liaising with ESOL professionals, the Department for Employment and Learning and the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA) in Northern Ireland to rewrite the Citizenship Materials for ESOL learners pack for Northern Ireland. When the pack has been produced there will be a great opportunity for ESOL practitioners in Northern Ireland to attend one of two free workshops being held in September 2006 in Belfast and Cookstown. Delegates will receive a free copy of the Citizenship materials for ESOL learners in Northern Ireland pack revised for ESOL learners in Northern Ireland.
