Dear colleague, As a new academic year is upon us, so begins a new season of British Council seminars for teachers of English in the UK. We would like to invite you to our opening session: An ESOL Debate with Philida Schellekens Tuesday 20 September 2011 British Council, 10 Spring Gardens, London, SW1A 2BN The ESOL Debate promises to be a hands-on session where you will have an opportunity to evaluate ESOL provision with colleagues and brainstorm what factors would really lift the effectiveness of classroom practice. For more information and to register, please go to: http://theESOLdebate.eventbrite.com A forward glance at the seminar series: This year the series will include a range of topics from literacy, essay writing and grammar, to motivating students, mobile learning and using cinema in the classroom. We are also delighted to be holding our first ‘live lesson’ - further details to follow. For the second year running we are also taking the seminars on the road to venues around the UK. Events will be held in Bournemouth, Leicester, Liverpool, Exeter and Belfast for the first time, as well as returning to Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff. The seminars are free of charge and open to all EFL and ESOL teachers, from newly qualified to the experienced. A full schedule will soon be published on www.teachingenglish.org.uk/seminars.
