English My Way Celebratory Event

Join the British Council, The Tinder Foundation and BBC Learning English for their celebratory event for the DCLG-funded English My Way programme, which is supporting people in some of the UK’s hardest to reach communities to develop their English language skills.

As well as hearing thoughts from Tinder Foundation's Chief Executive Helen Milner and DCLG about the impact of improved English language skills, there will be opportunity to hear from and talk to some of the learners who have benefited from English My Way. 

English My Way is an innovative blended learning programme, delivered by Tinder Foundation, British Council and BBC Learning English, supporting adults with no or very low levels of English language to better integrate with their local communities.  Delivered in local centres by ESOL tutors and volunteers, the programme has already supported over 700 people and is having a huge impact on improving the language skills of many.  The programme is funded through DCLG's English Language Competition.
