Call for Papers

Accentuate is a one-day pronunciation event aimed to reach out to teachers working in a variety of contexts. We welcome sessions on any aspect of pronunciation with relevance to the classroom. This broad remit covers traditional approaches as well as innovations in the field, including technology. The format for sessions is either a 45-minute talk / workshop or a 15-minute presentation of teaching practice, research findings or other brief input.

Sessions can be delivered individually or by teams.

Requirements for proposals are given below:

Workshop / talk (45 minutes)

  • Title: maximum 12 words
  • Abstract: 50 – 60 words
  • Summary: up to 250 words
  • Biodata: up to 50 words

Presentation (15 minutes)

  • Title: maximum 12 words
  • Abstract: 50 – 60 words
  • Biodata: up to 50 words
Proposals should be submitted online. The deadline is 22 December 2014 and you will be notified whether your proposal has been accepted on 2 January 2015. 

Please note that contributors to the event attend for free, and presenters of 45 minute workshops/talks can be reimbursed travel expenses of up to fifty pounds at the discretion of the organisers.
