National ESOL Forum

The first meeting of the National ESOL Forum took place on the 26 March 2007. The Forum – funded by the DfES - has been established following the publication of the NIACE-led committee of enquiry into ESOL. In its final report 'More than a language' the committee made 39 recommendations, one of which was to establish a forum to act as a source of expertise and advice on ESOL issues and to ensure that policy developments across government take full account of ESOL issues. Derek Grover is the Chairman of the new Forum.
