Seminars for January - February 2009
Thursday 29 January 2009, Manchester
Friday 6 February 2009, Birmingham
Monday 9 February 2009, London
Tuesday 10 February 2009, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
Background
The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Qualification Curriculum Authority (QCA) have a joint ministerial remit to work together to reform provision below Level 2. This programme of work is known as the Foundation Learning Tier (FLT). The FLT is also the term used to describe qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1 in the newly formed Qualifications and Credit Famework.
NIACE is offering half day seminars to prepare organisations for the introduction of the FLT Progression Pathways.
Who would benefit from attending?
The seminar is aimed at middle and senior managers to provide an introduction to the Foundation Learning Tier.
Participants will be asked to read the Prospectus for Progression Pathways (LSC, 2008) prior to attending the seminar. This will ensure we maximise the time available to us on the day. The Prospectus is available to download from
http://readingroom.lsc.gov.uk/lsc/National/LSC-P-NAT-080131_ProspectusProgressionPathways.pdf
Prticipants are asked to please bring the Prospectus with them on the day as it will be used for one of the activities.
